Dear Sirs,

Rules of Procedure in Limitation Conventions

               The Executive Council has decided to continue the work on this topic and to establish for that purpose an International Sub- Committee under the chairmanship of Professor Francesco Berlingieri, with Gregory Timagenis as Co-Chairman and Rapporteur.

               In agreement with them the first meeting of this International Sub-Committee will be held in Dubrovnik, on the occasion of the Assembly 2007 and the Symposium jointly organized by the CMI and the Croatian Maritime Law Association. The meeting will be held in the morning of Saturday 12th May 2007.

               I trust that your Association will delegate one of its members to attend that meeting and I would be grateful if you kindly communicate his/her name to the CMI Secretariat.

               Prof. Berlingieri and Mr. Timagenis will forward to your Association, early next year, some preparatory material, in addition to that already available on the CMI website, in order to enable the delegates of the National Associations to contribute to the work of the International Sub-Committee, bearing in mind that this will very likely be one of the topics on the agenda of the next CMI Conference, which will be held in Athens from 12th to 17th October 2008.
